A brief history of beads

Beads were the first ornaments to be worn by man, who enhanced their beauty in the fullness of time.

The production of glass beads by Venetian and Bohemian master craftsmen grew in Europe in the second half of the 16th century when the production and weaving of beads was considered one of the great handicraft of the Renaissance.
In the past families used the beaded jewels as heirlooms to be handed down and treated as powerful Talismans.
The decoration with beads reached its height of popularity and splendour in the Victorian age and continued until the 1920's.
The method, of workmanship such as crochet, knitting, needlepoint, woven into fabric and also threaded yarn with beads is the new way of communicating the importance of beads in the fashion world today.
Worn as jewellery and full of so many possibilities, lasting, beautiful to touch and to look at.
